Sungrow PowerHarbour home battery systems
PowerHarbour is Sungrow’s new all-in-one home battery platform, unveiled in Melbourne in October 2026. It brings the inverter, modular storage and energy management into one system. We also assess SBR and SBH options if you already have a Sungrow hybrid inverter.
PowerHarbour, SBR or SBH: which system are you looking at?
| Product family | Battery module sizes | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|
| PowerHarbour | 7 kWh and 10 kWh module options | A new integrated design or a documented compatible retrofit |
| SBR | 3.2 kWh per module | An existing or proposed hybrid inverter approved for SBR |
| SBH | 5 kWh per module | A compatible hybrid inverter and a larger modular stack |
PowerHarbour is a separate platform. Do not assume its modules can be added to an existing SBR or SBH tower.
What was actually announced in Australia?
Sungrow unveiled PowerHarbour at All-Energy Australia on 28 October 2026. Its announcement describes EV charging on selected Pro configurations; the SHSA-Pro was marked “coming soon”. An announcement is not a stock confirmation. Ask for local availability and the exact model before placing an order.
Can I keep my existing Sungrow inverter?
Sungrow says the new SMD battery modules can pair with selected SHT and SHRS storage inverters. The series name alone is not enough. Send the exact inverter model and a photo of the rating label; we will compare a supported retrofit with a new all-in-one system.
How much of the stack would you use?
If you import 9 kWh most nights, a 25 kWh battery does not automatically save 25 kWh a day. We compare overnight imports, daytime surplus and seasonal use before recommending a module count. Larger published system limits are not a sizing recommendation.
For backup, ask which circuits the hybrid inverter will supply when the grid fails. Running the fridge and lights is a different brief from starting a ducted air conditioner. We separate the backup wiring cost from the battery price.
What will the installed system cost?
A useful Sungrow quote separates the battery and inverter from switchboard work, backup wiring and commissioning. Ask for the total installed price, any eligible federal battery discount and the balance you pay. Future bill savings are a separate estimate, not a deduction from the invoice.
We check the proposed equipment and your property against the Clean Energy Regulator’s battery eligibility rules. We also identify the manufacturer’s warranty for the quoted model and who to contact for warranty support.
